Vientiane is the capital city of Laos, a very laid-back city, situated in the northeast of the Mekong River. Also, in this city, you will explore mixed of French colonial architecture and beautiful Buddhist temples.
I traveled to Vientiane with my girlfriends and we all flew from Malaysia directly to Vientiane city by Air Asia.
In this park, you can walk around and enjoy the amazing collection of Hindu and Buddhist statues.
There is a statue with an open mouth (the picture on the top) that you can enter inside and climb up to the top and have an amazing view of the entire park. Also, inside this statue, there are more small statues, like a mini-museum.
As this park is outside of the city, if you wish to walk, it will be a very long walk. Therefore, I will suggest you take a tuk-tuk, and with good bargain skills, you can get a pretty good deal.
This is a very famous landmark in Vientiane, as it was built in the resemble of the Arc de Triomphe in Paris.
You can walk around and enjoy the ambiance of this area of the city.
You can take a TukTuk or you can walk by using maps. If you are staying inside the city, the TukTuk price will be cheap.
Pha That Luang is also known as the Vientiane Great Stupa, also is the most significant landmark monument in Laos.
Once you arrive at Pha That Luang, you will be able to see the entire monument, and if you wish to view it closer, you will have to purchase a ticket from the gate. If not you can walk around outside and take pictures of this monument.
You can either walk or take a tuk-tuk, it all depends on how far your hotel is located.
Vientiane riverfront is the heart of the city, where there are plenty of activities going, shopping stalls for clothes, food, and souvenirs. This is the perfect area to experience the local lifestyle and explore a lot of their local cuisines and drinks. Also, there are plenty of Rooftop restaurants and bars, where you can enjoy the view of the Mekong river.
If you are living in the city center and are staying within a walking distance, I will suggest you walk. Plus you will explore the city more and will find the hidden gems of this city.
As we all know massages are one of the best things in Asia. Therefore to relax during the holidays, you must get a massage. Me and my friends, we went for two massages on two different days. On the first day, we had a foot massage and on the second day, we had a traditional Laos Massage. Super relaxing 😉
There are plenty of places for massages, to have the best experience, just walk in and have a look inside, and if you like it and gives you a good vibe, then get any kind of massage that you are up for it at that moment 😉
Walk around the city and have a look at the menu before you enter the restaurants. If there are some dishes that you would like to try, just give them a try. There are no perfect restaurants for local cuisines, just see if the place is clean and the menu and go for it. After all, the best part of traveling is experiencing new local dishes no 😉 Enjoy
