Egypt, a country that connects northeast Africa and the Middle East, dates back to the pharaohs’ reign. The towering Pyramids of Giza and the Great Sphinx are among the millennia-old monuments that line the rich Nile River Valley.

THE GREAT PYRAMIDS OF GIZA

The Great Pyramids of Giza is a significant landmark of the world. All the three pyramids spoke by themselves about how great they are. How the Sphinx is built is extraordinary. As I was near Sphinx I couldn’t believe for real I was seeing it from my naked eyes. Multiple emotions were running at that moment.

HOW MUCH DOES IS COST?

The Entrance fee is 200 Egyptian Pounds, though If you are interested to go inside one of the pyramids that is allowed is a different price.

ASWAN

Aswan, a city on the Nile River, has been the strategic and commercial gateway to southern Egypt since ancient times. It is home to significant archaeological sites that should not be overlooked.

HOW TO GET TO ASWAN?

I took a direct flight from Cairo to Aswan, as I was traveling within limited time and wanted to visit as many places as possible.

WHERE TO VISIT IN ASWAN?

PHILEA TEMPLE

You will come across a lot of temples and each historical temple tells a whole different story. To enter this temple it cost 180 Egyptian Pounds for the entrance.

HOW TO GET HERE?

This temple is located in a different island, therefore you have to take a unique Egyptian ferry from the port, where they will charge you 150 Egyptian pounds for a round trip.

ABU SIMBEL

Abu Simbel is one of my favorite temples in Egypt.

HOW MUCH DOES IS COST?

Abu Simbel is one of my favorite temples in Egypt. To enter this temple you will have to pay 255 (Entrance Fee) + 300 (Camera Fee) Egyptian Pounds. They do charge extra for Camera and do random checks inside the temple.

HOW TO GET HERE?

To get here you will have to drive or take a tour. It is quite a long journey, roughly it is like four hour drive.

LUXOR

Luxor is a very beautiful city with a great ambiance during the evening. You will enjoy the historical and cultural part of this city.

KINGS VALLEY

Kings Valley is all about tombs of ancient Pharaohs, where you will see the interior detailing’s of each tomb, fully decorated with the calligraphy of ancient Egyptian writings. The Best ones are 7, 3, 23 Tomb. There are other tombs that you can enter by paying more and are better preserved.

HOW MUCH IT COST?

To enter, you will have to pay 480 (Entrance Fee) + 300 (Camera Fee) + 10 Egyptian pounds (Transfer from the ticket counter to inside the kings Valley

KARNAK TEMPLE

This temple will absolutely, blow your mind. The massive columns are fully decorated with ancient Egyptian drawings. The best time to visit this temple will be just one hour before the sunset, as the colors of the sunrays on the huge columns are magnificent.

To enter this temple all you have to pay is just 400 Egyptian Pounds for the entrance.

HOW TO GET HERE?

You can get here by walk from the city, it is about 30 minutes by foot, or can take any sort of transportation available from the city. Such as taxi, Tuk Tuk or Horse Carriage.

SHARM EL SHEIKH

Sharm El Sheikh will be a holiday within a holiday after sightseeing all the temples. Where you can relax in a nice resort, by enjoying your time in the swimming pool or at the beach. I stayed at Xperience Kiroseiz Parkland, it was about 30 minutes walk to the beach.

Food

Also the food was a highlight of this city 🙂 Fairooz restaurant serves delicious Arabic food. They have the best falafel and humus you could ever eat.

PLACES MUST VISIT IN SHARM EL SHEIKH

MASJID AL SAHABA SHARM EL SHEIKH

This mosque is truly a wonder, definitely a must to visit. The Architecture of this mosque is remarkable. Near by this mosque there are a lot of stalls, where you can buy souvenirs, Arabic sweets, fruits and many more. Strawberries and Arabic sweets from the stalls are super delicious.

The best time to visit this mosque will be just an hour before the sunset, as the sunrays setting on the mosque is amazing. You can enjoy walking under the twilight sky.

SNORKELING TRIP

Sharm El Sheikh is a great place for snorkeling and diving. The underwater beauty will surprise you with the colorful huge coral reefs and fishes. I did snorkeling and it was incredibly amazing. The only thing that you might find uneasy would be the water being cold. However, this beauty will make you forget how cold the water is until you get on the boat and be prepared you will be shivering.

They offer excursions to either Trian Island or Ras Mohamed. The package for Trian Island will cost 400 Egyptian Pounds per person. Also, at the harbor, you can rent a snorkeling mask for 35 Egyptian Pounds.

This package, it includes three different snorkeling spots and a lunch buffet with a free flow of beverages.

CAIRO

Cairo is the capital city of Egypt where even exploring the city is quite an adventure.

KHAN EL- KHALILI MARKET

HOW TO GET HERE?

You can either walk here or take a taxi which will cost approximately 7 to 10 dollars. If you choose to walk, it will be like three hours walk from the city, though it depends where you are in the city. To get here by walking, you will be able to explore the city more and the lifestyle of the locals. The traffic is terrible during the evening, however, thankfully crossing the roads, won’t be as crazy as in Asian countries for example in Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh in Vietnam.

EGYPTIAN MUSEUM

If you are an individual who is fond of Museums, this museum is highly recommended to visit. The most impressive thing you will see is how the bodies were preserved. It is quite fascinating.
